Princeton Watches Offer Big Discounts On Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Dive Watch. In this series, I wanted to tell you about the great prices on the often overlooked Citizen brand offering a great selection of high-quality models. In particular the discount watch store, Princeton Watches offering great Discounts on Citizen Eco-Drive amongst others.
What Is The Citizen Promaster?
The Citizen Promaster is one of my personal favorites that I’m happy to say I own and have used widely. This entry level Dive Watch offers a good all round Dive Watch at a price that’s affordable for most people while giving durability and reliability, not to mention good looks that are as at home on the street as in the water.
This personal model has a blue dial with large luminous markers on the hours, and triangles at 6 and 9 o’clock, with a double triangle at 12. At 3 o’clock the date is visible against a white background.
The hour and minute hands are luminous and robust making them easy to see below the surface.
Protecting the Eco-Drive movement is hardened mineral crystal in a stainless steel case with screw down crown, and tough polyurethane strap. The surrounding bezel is unidirectional in blue and red giving easy readability.
The all important water resistance is up to 300m which is certainly good enough for any recreational diving.
The beauty of the Citizen Eco-Drive series is the solar-powered movement that recharges the battery under low light situations including artificial light. Amazingly, this power source will remain charged and working for months in a zero light environment like a storage cupboard.

Pros and Cons
The Promaster is a perfect all round Dive and Everyday wear watch. It is tough and durable, giving accurate time, powered by both natural and artificial light. The only downside is the reports of potential problems with the crown.
I hasten to add, I have never experienced any issue with my watch but the odd reports can not be ignored. Basically, it’s been reported that a design flaw of the crown screws being too short can sometimes compromise the water resistance.
I have used this watch to 10 meters with no issues at all, so I can only assume that looking after your watch will prevent any damage. I would also guess this issue would be covered by manufacturer’s warranty should if every come to light.
Reports of a faulty crown
I paid £260.00 for my Promaster, you can save on that price at Princeton for $221.25 at the time of writing by visiting Princeton Watches discount online store.
