An expert Explanation Of What A Tachymeter Is And How To Use It

What Is A Tachymeter

The Tachymeter is often included in the description of a Chronograph and appears to be part of the same system, but this is misleading. The Chronograph is essentially a stopwatch, whereas the Tachymeter is a tool that uses the Chronograph as part of the process of measuring speed/time/distance.

It can get really complicated and difficult to explain the operation of the tachymeter, so I have borrowed a very clear and easy to understand video courtesy of Erik Ternsjö of www.youtube.com/ErikPhotography.

Once you have watched this video it will seem so very simple.
