When I started this website I knew I wanted to keep my feet securely on the ground, not flying off on flights of fancy and fantasy. It’s true, I like the expensive stuff too, I mean who wouldn’t want a Rolex or a Breitling if they could afford it. That’s not to say I’ll never bring these brands to the site, but it’s not my main focus.
Discount Watch Stores is primarily about discounting on watches that are already in the realms of reality, but difficult to justify if you’re on a budget. Rather than saving and spending $800 on a watch, DWS wants you to pay $600 or less.
Tissot PRS 200
Good discounts are available on modestly priced brands just as they are on the high-end brands like Rolex, but I want to talk to you about one my many favorites today. My first idea was to talk about the Omega Seamaster 300, you know James Bond’s watch in Spectre, but something caught my attention and I just had to talk to you about the Tissot PRS 200 Chronograph series.
The Tissot PRS 200 is a perfect example of a mid-range watch that sits firmly in the aspirational section of the market, where it’s neither dirt cheap, or out of your price range. Just uncomfortable to buy on a budget.
You have a choice of movement, either Quartz or Automatic, but whichever you chose you’ll have no worries about accuracy.
You may think finding a quality chronograph automatic movement under $1000 would be difficult. For the most part, you would be right. However, the high volume production and of course the high quality of the movement, marry to create an automatic chronograph that’s both cheap and precise. You can see from the image it’s also a thoroughly beautiful looking piece.
The stainless steel case of 40mm is robust. The face is sizable allowing you to read the time, date and chronograph with ease. e watch is not an oversize chronograph. You can read the information easily as the design of the watch face is simple. The case at 11mm thick gives a sense of durability and ruggedness, while the overall style pulls off a classic and timeless elegance.
The visuals queues are somewhat standard in design, the chronograph well placed, the date window at 4 o’clock, and a second hand is yellow giving a nice balance.
As you would expect, the crystal is scratch-free sapphire that’s standard in all luxury watches, the crown is screw down with a strengthened back cover giving a water resistance reading of up to 200m.

Don’t know about you but I feel like buying a Tissot now…
Where Can I Buy This?
While I was looking around online I found this particular model with Quartz movement in a number of places like worldofwatches, and the Thewatchery for example. If I remember correctly, the prices did differ depending on which site I looked at. While that sounds a little scary the truth is, you will always want to shop around to get the best price anyway. That’s just good practice.
Also, you should remember that these online stores should have a price match guarantee, or at least I know some do have this. So if you do find the same item cheaper elsewhere, you can either shop at the cheaper store or ask the pricier store to drop the asking price.
Before you get flustered I suggest you take a look at the Best Discount Watch Stores review to help you understand your best options when shopping online for discount luxury watches. I would say, although I do have an affiliation with some of these online stores, By no means do I have an affiliation with all of them.
My star ratings are based on my research and the order they appear on the list is alphabetical and in no way in order of preference.
