Princeton Watches Offer Big Discounts On Citizen Eco-Drive Mens Corso Watch

Welcome to the 5th in the series featuring Princeton Watches Discount Store offering big discounts on Citizen Eco-Drive including Men’s Corso Watch.

Where to start on this citizen eco drive review, let’s take a look at the Corso, it’s a Japanese quartz movement as you would expect, so we know the reliability is built in and the accuracy is without question. But what else do we expect of Citizen?

For my money, Citizen is one of the first places to look if you want all the build quality and design cues that make a watch standout, just as a genuine Swiss built piece would. This is not to say Citizen is anything less than genuine, it`s just that the build quality, features, and general look and feel defy the purchase cost that’s a fraction of the Swiss brands.

What Is The Citizen Corso?

Simply put, the Citizen Corso is one of the more restrained of the Citizen stable as you can see from the image below. We can see it`s a very sophisticated member of the collection that, although doesn’t strictly conform to the Dress Watch checklist, there is certainly an elegance that makes it a potential Dress Watch with attitude. Basically, this could be worn at a Black Tie function, as easily as the golf course or the office.

Some of the purists out there will surely disagree with me here because a Dress Watch should be more subtle with fewer color tones, narrower hour and minute hands, and no second hand or date window. But life is funny like that and these days there are fewer hard and fast rules and regulations about what’s ‘proper’.

What’s Under The Hood?

The outstanding characteristics of this model are the two tone gold on silver, against the blue dial. The 40 mm case of brushed and polished stainless steel is set on solid link stainless steel bracelet with push button deployment. Housed inside this case is the Japanese E111 quartz movement topped with a protective antireflective sapphire crystal protecting the blue dial giving a date window at 3 O’clock  and a modest 100m water resistance. Pheww, that was a long sentence to get out…

The markers are Arabic and the sword arms embedded with luminous material for low light situations, but the main feature here is the Eco-Drive power supply that’s so distinctive of the Citizen collection.

By now, if you’ve been reading my previous posts you know all about the Eco-Drive system and how it converts light energy into stored battery power to keep your Citizen running accurately even in low or artificial light. But if this is your first visit take a look at the video here, courtesy of Citizen themselves.

Pros and Cons

Pros
Classy design
A fraction of the costs with an equivalent Swiss Brand
Trusted
Accurate
Reliably

Cons
It is not a Luxury Swiss Watch

My Thoughts

This is a nice piece of kit that I’d be happy to wear anywhere I went without a second thought, but it’s not my favorite. That’s not because this piece has a problem, it’s just I’d like to wear something more subtle for a Dress Watch and something a bit more Look At Mewhile I’m schmoozing and networking.

Like anything else in the luxury watch market, you just gotta love it to buy it and wear it, right? It’s totally down to you, I’m just giving you my thoughts on this. Basically, it’s a nice piece that I’d gladly wear it I didn’t have anything else appropriate.

Prices

The prices can vary but the two lowest price I found were at Princeton Watches and also on Amazon. At the time of writing, the price Amazon offering sat at $175, just beating the Princeton Watches prices of $206, but as I say the prices vary between stores and available offers.
