With the introduction of new software, Jomashop has now moved from manual confirmations to an automated fraud negation system, designed to guard against attempted fraud and speed the fulfillment process.
Now the purveyor of luxury watches, pens, and other objet d’art can have orders out the door the same day giving their customers a more streamlined buying experience with less chance of errors that can potentially lead to the Jomashop complaints department receiving emails or phone calls.
So far the Jomashop customer service department is happy with the new upgrade which has reduced time delays and customer disappointment.
It has been two years now since the automated anti-fraud system “Forter” was installed at Jomashop and general manager Karnowsky has said since employing the new software Jomashop has reduced confirmation time from a typical three days to a typical two hours from order to ready for shipping. The transaction decline rates have been successfully reduced by a massive 69% and international sales have increased by 35%. The increase in the in the international side of the business is mainly due to a more efficiently handling of orders originating from outside the US. Due to the smart software, there is less to worry about regarding fraudulent losses on any transaction Forter approves. Confidence in Forter is so high, Jomashop plans to increase its marketing in China in preparation for a renewed demand.
A Crazy Story
In a real world example, Jomashop related the story of an un-named celebrity ordering an $80,000 watch online. In an attempt to determine all details were correct and above board, great lengths were taken to make these confirmations, such as making a recording of the call with the celebrity to match the voice with YouTube videos, asking the celebrity to post a certain message from their Twitter account.
Both these checks could easily be seen as intrusive and long winded, making any potential customer walk away, but these are the problems that face retailers every day, and precisely what “Forter anti-fraud technology” is there to streamline. The technology uses 4,000 plus points to assess risk including IP address, shipping addresses, data taken from social networks and other sources to determine authenticity.
A Good Result
Prior to the implementation of Forter and manual checks, the Jomashop customer service worker would need to seek confirmations of identity via phone and email resulting in delays and severe cooling off. These long delays increase the cooling off period for any customer giving time to change their mind and start to feel remorse at being out through the ringer while trying to spend large amounts of money. Understandably, customers often got upset, which is not the intention of any retailer.
The new system helps to gain and retain customers by speeding the process, being less intrusive, and by promising to cover any chargebacks due to fraud for any transactions it approves.
The Take Away
Any improvement is welcomed. We have all been in a situation where we are trying to give out money to someone and it seems impossible. The new system is now old enough to be considered mature and reliable, and taking into account none of your consumer rights are affected and only the process is speeded up, it’s really a no-brainer.
All the usual services are intact from Jomashop tracking, warranty and return policy to your Jomashop customer services and complaints department should you need it. But by now you probably know that is Jomashop legit, offering authentic watches at great prices so hopefully, you would never need to contact the complaints department. The bottom line is this new innovation provides a safer place to shop online for affordable authentic watches.
