Emporio Armani Watches can be expensive or affordable depending on the movement you prefer, but one thing that’s always the same is the sense of elegance and style. Their main focus may not be on watchmaking but they consistently offer affordable and attractive watches with design cues that are undoubtedly the Armani signature. Let’s take a look at the Armani Watches Review.
What Is Emporio Armani?
Ok, so this is really a redundant question because everyone knows the Giorgio Armani brand. But what you may not know is the brand trades under a number of labels from the Top Of The Line, Aspirational, to Accessible price ranges. Maybe you have heard or seen these brands and not given it much thought?
Giorgio Armani Privé
Emporio Armani EA7
AJ or Armani Jeans
AX or Armani Exchange
Well, here we are looking at Emporio Armani which as you can see from the list is midway through the list meaning it’s pretty much in the ‘Aspirational’ position in the market. With these positions in the market, Armani is known for designing, manufacturing, distributing, retailing of haute couture, ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, watches, jewelry, accessories, eyewear, cosmetics and home interiors. Phew, that’s quite a list!
I think you’ll agree the Armani family of brands covers a lot of ground in the fashion industry. But I digress, we are here to look at the Emporio Armani Watches
Emporio Armani Watches.
The simple break down when it comes to the Armani Watch market is the division into two categories. The first being the more affordable models, and the second, the more aspirational ‘Swiss Made’ offerings that will typically cost many times more than your standard Emporio Armani watch.
So what’s the difference?
Put simply, the less expensive models are built with steel cases, mineral crystal and quartz movements from none Swiss origins, let’s say China or Japan. The ‘Swiss Made’ models offer stainless steel and ceramic cases with sapphire crystal, a water resistance typically to 50 meters, and as you might expect, a Swiss-Made quartz movement.
The good news is that regardless of the choice you make about the movement, you can be sure that your watch is accurate using its tried and tested Swiss or Asia quartz movement. Like mine, they should run for years and give no trouble at all.
My Emporio Armani Watch
Just like my watch, Emporio Armani watches are very conservative and traditional, generally using a standard color scheme of Silver, Gold, and Black.
If there’s any innovation it’s in the styling rather than the watch build, and that’s precisely what I expect and want from a fashion house. What Armani do well, is keep things elegant. This allows for multipurpose wear from lounge bar to boardroom, with suit or jeans, the classic looks of the Armani watch are never overstated, and look good anywhere.
My Emporio Armani AR5866 has a Chronograph Complication, and date window between 4 and 5 O’clock. The dark black dial with gray top ring gives a great background to the luminous silver hands, and second hand to really pop. This is a model that satisfies both fashion and function with its 43mm case making it masculine while still being conservative.
You will probably notice I’ve modified my watch by adding a black metal strap with folding clasp. It originally came with a black rubber strap with single eye buckle, but I found it was a little awkward to fasten. That’s just a personal issue I have with being clumsy and prefer a folding clasp.
The Take Away
We’ve learned there are two main markets for Armani Watches. The standard none Swiss made models which incidentally, will set you back a modest $200 to $500, and then we have the ‘Swiss Made’ counterpart that retails for substantially more at around the $600 to $1400 mark. Whichever direction you take you are pretty much guaranteed a good quality and accurate timepiece, but of course, the more expensive models will have a better build quality and a more expensive Swiss movement.
If we bear in mind this is a fashion item you need to decide if it’s worth spending big money or just sticking with the entry-level model that has all the good looks and styling that Armani is best known for. For me, I love my AR5866 that I picked up some time ago for less than $300. I’ve never had any trouble with it, and I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some Italian style.
How To Buy A Designer Watch
The last thing I want to mention was how to track down your favorite watch. If you’re interested in finding a particular brand or model there are many places to look. The Armani brand, for example, is usually available in high-end department stores, but I would recommend only checking them out at the department store. Try them on, see if you like the brand and model then start shopping around.
You’re going to find that the prices in the department store are pretty steep, so I suggest shopping around online for the best bargain. There are countless places online to investigate, but to make your life a little easier for you, follow the link below to my Discount Watch Stores review page. Here you can get an idea about some of the biggest stores and what they offer, but more importantly, you can get an idea about the quality by going through customer reviews. If you haven’t already read my personal watch collection reviews on Boss, Guess, Garwood, Citizen, and Seiko please visit them using these links.
I hope this helps you, but please let me know what you think.
